Turraco services are developed under the guidance of applicable API Standards for tank calibration. We employ a written policy and procedure manual to ensure all tank calibration work is performed in a uniform manner. All Tank Calibration work including calculation and chart production is performed in-house. Turraco can customize calibration charts to meet unique needs of customers including: feet and inches, decimal feet, or metric units. Our internal checks and balance procedures ensure that all measurements and computations are in accordance with the noted standards.

Calibration of storage tanks should be performed if the tank is newly constructed, has had structural modifications, or during minimum 15 year intervals as recommended by API. Additionally re-computations of calibration charts may be required if there have been changes in products stored that have different gravities, change in floating roof weights or leg positions or if there is a reference gauge height variation.

These conditions can make a big difference in volume at various levels and dip reference height if left un-calibrated or wrongly calibrated. Also any structural changes or repairs made to the tank should call for re-calibration.
